why do some people's helmet appears while others dont?

just wondering why some of my chars don't appear to have helmets on even though I've equipped them with one. Is it based on np or something?
also, any way to change your hair style and color for free? thanks

press I to go to your invetory and look at ur helmet slot on top
there will be a box where u can untick and tick ur helmet to show or not show on top right of your helmet slot
