is it worth upgrading non unique high class items?

I have a bunch of chitin shells and other high class wepaons in my INN
i sometimes just sell them to a NPC because merchanting them is pointless

is it worth upgrading them and reselling them? i tried upgrading some once and i ended up spending way more than the couple +7s that i made, maybe i upgraded wrong

Go all the way to +5 with normal upgrade scroll (the 200k scroll) and after +5 upgrade with bus to +6/7... I think it's better then NPCing them

use them as "upgrade bait" when upgradin higher class items. i find that if i use them as burn material when upgrading uniques, they serve a better purpose than npc'ing for 100k.

made lots of +6 krowaz armor and +7 gem items using only shells and grahams, impacta, mirages for burn items
