Trying to decide between two guitars, in wich the main difference is the wood they are made of. As far as I know, Curly Maple guitars cost more due to their look, but taking that aside, has anyone noticed a considerable difference between the quality of the sound on this two types of wood?

Can also be applied to drums, bass, pianos, or any other wood made instruments.

Acoustic. Gonna buy either a Gibson Dove (curly maple) or a Hummingbird (Mahogany). Always had a thing for Gibson acoustics, ever since played on a vintage model.

This is my falt mates guitar made of mahogany .Frankly speaking it sounds excellent .
I've never played on any guitar made of curly maple. The only thing I can advice you is checking sound out on your own .Those guitar are kind of high class and cost a lot for sure so you better check them before buying .

I know. Tried out a couple Mahogany guitars in a store, but couldn't find any Curly Maple. The guitars weren't high class tho, so didn't really felt if mahogany was particularly good. Thing is that the guitars I am considering aren't that easy to find in a music store. If I could get both in the same room I'd be happy, but that can't be done in Peru
