I'm just trollbound by Ektomorf atm, used last.fm but it didnt give me any good suggestions.

Other similar bands I know of already:

    Sepultura
    Soulfly
    Machine head
    Cavalera Conspiracy

So any one can tip me off with any bands that mix groove and thrash, I really like heavy drummings like on 'God hates us all' and Ektomorf's albums, catchy riffs and semi-growling

You kinda misunderstood me, I heard all albums you listed except for Voivod's, old thrash doesnt do me. It's not brutal enough for me or something.

What I'm looking for is music that mix thrash with other styles (not death metal though, it just sounds wierd) but mostly heavy/groove metal with some thrash riffs in it. Thanks anyway though

Machine head is more groove than trash
Sepultura is more trash than groove
Cavalera conspiracy is more trash death metal
    Soulfly is more nu-metal..

¨Sorry m8 but groove - and trash metal have nothing to do with blood stain child ^.^ Its more like melodic death metal
You should try out Dark tranquility,Callenish circle or Night rage if you like melodic metal

Goddamnit, after having a sequence with loads of melodic death I tried out Gojira again, dont know what I missed before but it's fucking beautiful. Got their new album today, heard a few songs so far, seems great.

Electric Wizard? They have a weird sound to them imo, maybe they'd work?

Abit too slow and too much RocknRoll sound, nice try though.

Went through my itunes and their genres....only this one came up as "groove metal"

Hope it's what you're looking for, I personally don't really listen to the Absence very often, my friend recommended them and I dl'd a few songs, but haven't listened to them all. Anyways, enjoy.
