rumor its they are gonna make it a real game now not just a mod.
That is no rumor, it will come. DayZ is extremely popular.

DayZ stand-alone version will be out this year or early next year. It will be using the same engine with ARMA3 but will be a different game. Because ARMA is a war simulation it's very trusting which caused the scripting madness in DayZ mod but they hope to fix that in the original game. There is also War Z we know very little about. It's supposed to be out later this fall. People are crying about war z being a copy etc. I honestly don't understand why people are being such fan boys. competition is good. I will be getting them both!
