Path of Exile is a free online-only action role-playing game set in the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast. It is currently under development by Grinding Gear Games in New Zealand. New players are being added continuously to the Closed Beta Test.

Since many players are not impressed by Diablo 3,cause its colorful and just doesnt have the same ambient as Diablo 2 or Diablo,and cause Diablo 3 has real money auction house (blizz trying to make some coinage ofc) they are looking for alternative diablo-like games.This game is best out there.At the moment its in closed beta,but keys are given out every 30 mins to random user that registers on their website.

/ontopic. i have a lvl 30 marauder in the open beta. the game had maybe 6-12 hours of (very) mild instability after it launched, which resulted in me getting disconnected 3 times in about 5 hours; but its great now. i've yet to run into any problems that've caused me to want to stop playing (y'know, like the RMAH, and the whole online perpetual world thing D3 has). the pvp is fantastic though i'd like to see more than just 3v3 and 1v1 options. this little game company managed to release a superior game in less time, and ON time... who had their thumbs up their ass for 4 years over at blizz?
