    As the server is FARM it will require at least 500 players, to beat the competition and make a better place than USKO.

    I wish you guys the best of luck. I was offered by twoey to help test it but I don't have the time atm since I'm busy with my server. You guys have worked a long time on this and it's about time you start advertising it.

    I just hope you guys can survive massive botnet attacks because there is going to be tons of jealous KO devs out there not including the people that hate twoey for whatever reason. From what twoey told me tho he has a good host planned. I'd assume this server won't be ready until around early 2015 or spring.

    Who knows, depending on the release time I may revive my clan and return to KO

    I remember NDKO and everyone being hyped for it, lets hope you can withstand the ddos :x.

    Looks good. I hope you can handle the ddos attacks from the turks like sheldon said. Also some other potential server owners might see it as a danger to their own server and try to ddos you. I will give it a try when you get it online though my main concern is that will there be koxp? We all know how usko is today. I hope this server doesnt turn out to be a pvp usko as cheat wise.

    It's less of a priority during early alpha testing, but exploit/cheat detection & (server-side) prevention is really my thing.
    What I can tell you for sure: it won't be as abusable as, say, Knight Kingdom (i.e. where speedhackers flying across the map is a normal occurrence ;_; ). Measures will be put in place to prevent that stuff server-side (if they're not already -- a lot are, a couple of them are still experimental though, e.g. collision detection).
    General botting is probably the only thing I don't have any definite plans for right at this moment, but there's plenty of time to decide how best to deal with those.

    Edit:
    Should probably mention -- as I was recently working on this sort of thing for 1.298 (which took a relatively long time) -- that since we have full control over the server's source code, detecting this stuff is far simpler/more effective than trying to do so with the 1.298 binaries, so it's not really much of an issue doing so.

    Koxp are realy easy you need only Sheriff system and some1 who know koxpers( i mean how they work ) ;p

    The sheriff system is a reactive measure (and limited by manpower) rather than a preventive one (which is active all the time), as such the sheriff system should only have to be used as a fall back system for persons that slipped through detection.

    I think Active GM's like You and Two are fine with forum cheat report, fast ban and thats all.

    Why dont u make botting LEGAL? but in certain places ofcourse. I remember thats what MYKO use to do for eslant only i think?

    Alpha Schedule :

    Alpha invites related
    11/11 ~ unknown - reviewing applications and sending out invitations for a small interview.
    11/14 ~ unknown - sending out invite codes through email to those who've been accepted.

    Game testing related (these are subject to change depending on how many testers can attend, we strive to keep them the same though!) :
    11/16 6:00PM CET - Border Defense War (expected to last around 30 minutes)
    11/16 6:30PM CET - Chaos Dungeon (expected to last around 20 minutes)
    11/16 7:00PM CET - Juraid Mountain (expected to last around 50 minutes)

    After applying your invite code on the website you will be able to see the clients download links, hence giving you guys about 2 days to download it before we test any game events.

    It's easy to prevent ddos if minor botneters get on your ass. But Imagine receiving a merged attack from longhorn which has 650+ Gbps botnet along with yourko owner which also has a botnet of same size and probably some other individuals now also have big botnets. I doubt it can mitigate so much data but every good mitigating shit on server can be bought it's just expensive ofcourse
