Since the new update my Antivirus goes crazy about the knightonline.exe. Apparently it found this: https://www.microsoft.com/security/p...3&enterprise=0

Just redownloaded & checked it and it's fine on our end. That's definitely not a false positive, but due to the nature of that particular infection I'm assuming it's spread there from another source after you've downloaded it. Best of luck with cleaning your PC; that one really sounds like a nuisance! :/

Well... Yeah that's not it. I have no idea about computers tbh so I just did a factory reset on my laptop. Fresh Windows 10, nothing else on it but drivers. Same shit. After extracting patch2073.zip, my Windows Defender goes crazy but only about knightonline.exe

I'm running F-Secure on this particular computer and the client seems clean. I don't know about other programs though.

I am currently downloading Avira. I uploaded the patch to https://www.metadefender.com which found nothing. So I guess it's just Windows Defender doing w/e...

I specifically checked it with Windows Defender also, though I have no idea if -- although it's up-to-date -- heuristic detection is the same as the version Windows 10's using. I didn't check that patch specifically (I just checked the latest client), but it also considers it perfectly clean.

I'm not really sure what to say, to be honest. I don't want to say it's worth ignoring, because it doesn't appear that way to me (it's detecting something different to what things normally detect when it's packed, or even what things normally show for the unpacked client), but it just doesn't seem to be from our end. Checking it against virustotal (which someone did before me, apparently) also seems to show it's clean.

Could you possibly upload KnightOnline.exe (edit: just KnightOnline.exe, it's possible the archive itself is fine but it's being modified after it's extracted) so I can take a look and confirm whether or not that is indeed different to what we're serving?

Well, that's definitely the file we're serving. The Windows 10 version of Defender must be doing things differently.

As far as it deleting it, you should still be able to create an exclusion for it as per here (hopefully, anyway!):

I probably wouldn't outright disable it just for ApexKO, if your PC's happy for double the real-time scanning. Or even if you'd prefer to not go with an external option after all.

since i joined back, i seen up to 80 players in cz, witch is pretty good for an english server. there is basicly no english server with that many players without events or w/e...

PK is off and on like any other server.
but when it picks up...the kill box doesn't stop.

it's usually the main clans vsing it out across the map.
anyone foolish enough to get in the way gets rolled over like State lines.

one of the few bps on server, i guess some salty kids couldn't handle a bp solo tanking their party while every other bp on the server dies in 3 hits.
