lol talk about trolling. Have you ever seen yourself in some of these private server topics. I restrained myself so many times before from flaming your posts. But I guess you`re just too narrow-minded.

On the other hand, I don`t get offended if you call me a troll... heck, for a guy like me, I even take that as a compliment... mostly due to the fact that I`m getting to you.

And yes that`s exactly what I`m doing... still planning on playing the server and the mean time also telling him that he is doing a shitty job. Someone needs to step up and say the obvious. I know it`s not easy developping, I personally would not have any clue what to do, but there is a reason why I didn`t open any servers. The whole point is, after the last few failed servers, he should have learned only to release something that he was 100% sure would release. As much as I want to say, `good job, keep up the good work`... I have to give some people a reality check that optimism isn`t always the way to go in every situation.

I actually hope I eat all my words and he accomplishes everything he set out to do,... but so far, I believe that I`m the one that`s taking a right stance on the situation.

No such thing as %100 when it comes down to security. I am trying to leave no open holes, but think about it like this. A terorist is hiding a bomb in a house, which you don't know, and you are asked to find it by searching houses in the entire city. You can get some information about terorist, like how poor was he? If he's poor, he cannot live in big houses, so you can try targeting low-budget houses at first. This is basicly what I am trying to do since the start. (Please note, in Medieval Empire, LEKO times I had no information about the exploit. Where was it coming from, what it was targeting, which access exploiter were getting, etc. So, it was like you are going to search every house, but nobody tells you what you are actually searching for. A stolen kid? A desk? Cookies?

Finally found that the exploit is coming from Server Files, which is pretty bad for me, because the exploiter prolly went through leaked 1098 server sources and tried to find holes/exploitable areas. I'll prolly won't understand much myself by looking at sources. That's where I need someone to back me up...

An unhacked private server doesn't mean admins did a great job securing it. It is just, hackers couldn't find a hole yet. (As much as you try to proove the opposite, this statement will always be correct.) It is usually the same exploits that being used on private servers nowadays, since we are all using leaked MGames 1298 server files. Someone found a way to crash servers? Pretty much all servers crash by it. There is not much I can do, when it comes down there. I have no ASM knowledge. I am a web developer, a scripter. I won't understand ASM well, and someone who knows ASM won't understand me well. In the end, we cannot judge their knowledge.

Yes, each fail teaches me new things. Constant success would make me lazy and egoist. Although players dislike it so much (and rage at me all the time) I am actually happy that these problems keeps me working, learning new things, improving myself, all in all a more knowledged Aristona.

As it's being a very long post once again (...but I know you like to read them) I will try to make my last words and press enter. I was so excited about permissions when I first hear it (god, I always kept searching for it in MSSQL - because I do it on MYSQL) because I could whitelist what I want and what not. For example, server files user needs "Shutdown the server" access? No. "Delete tables" access? No. "Act like administrator" access? No. That's what I did this time. Although server users had no shutdown permission, windows users/administrator had no shutdown permission, CMD wasn't working, they still managed to shutdown server by crashing lsass.exe. It wasn't something I expected.

Lastly, I am definitely not praying to god and double click server files. Overally, configuration took 2-3 hours for me to open Medieval Empire, 7-8 hours to open Leko, and 4-5 entire day in EternalKO, since more things you learn require more time to configure. Probably when EternalKO releases once again, it will take a while more to configure new things, but I still can't guarantee the server will not be exploited.

I hope you understand. That's the whole story.

Ps. Just a little extra information. Some people says Twostars' fix is already leaked, which I currently have, but I won't rush using it, nor use it before confirmation. Sorry.

Neither I have trust to permissions nor the fix alone right now. I'll try to make the both happen before opening server this time.
