No, I think it more likely he means for friends to have 500 friends which the intention of ruling out fake accounts. Unfortunately, I think the only thing that actually rules out legitimate participants of the event, like say -- people who don't invite people they don't know. NOBODY on my list has more than, say, 300 friends at most and that's on the extreme end of the spectrum.

All you've done is cut legitimate people out of events because you've made the single assumption that everyone who has a Facebook account is a social whore. That's simply not true.

you arent start with full gear +8, you start with medium gear, chitins, mirage dagger etc, then you go to cz and you will have to farm for uniques, new armors that are same as shells.
keep read the information about the server and you will know everything
