Can someone please quote me on this "minor glitch" thing? Everyone keeps quoting it as if I said it... but I don't recall ever actually saying it...

Sorry for the lack of updates, was multitasking a little - skimming over game server code to see if I can find any other issues with the socket system (short of actually putting up the server, I can't test that I've fixed the exact issue we were experiencing), working on/testing the connection filter, tweaking server policies and reconfigging the webserver setup (as it was rushed a little, as we didn't really expect to have so much traffic!).

Anyway, apart from "still working on it", I have no other updates at this moment.

8 hours... anyone that has read that first page properly, that is referring to the sleep and the work. People usually sleep for 8 hours, so I`m pretty sure what two meant to say was it`s going to take a bit longer then that as 8 hours alone includes just my sleep.

Either way, fix it, I just want to log as I won`t be able to log much within the next week due to exams.

Well this is just embarrassing. First he sleeps 13 hours... sure, we`ll believe that one... and second he can`t fix a `minor glitch` within 5 hours.

Well by minor glitch it could either mean its just something done quickly or it could mean its not hard to fix and its easy to notice but it still might take time to patch.

How about everyone stop worrying what the problem is since most people here (likely including me) can provide no useful information in regards to to it.

Instead post some suggestions, talk about your clans, w/e.

P.S: I don't play here, nor am I affiliated with KO-Tastic staff, however it's getting kind of old seeing everyone bicker over shit when servers go offline for what ever reason, they said they are working on it, what more do you want lol.

We'll be starting the server at 9PM GMT(+0) - that is, in an hour and 20 minutes. This is primarily for testing purposes, but - if the issue was resolved - you can play as normal. Thanks for your patience guys, we appreciate it. Fingers crossed the issue's no longer a problem!

It's not some install , click run and bamb you have a fully working server. Remember KE was laced with fucking bucket loads of errors and bugs. If you were bitching at K2 I would be with you , but rmember this is one man trying to do the work of normally a team of computers techs. He going to make sure it is done right , and I for one would rather let him get on with it rather than running my mouth off and taking up his time to answer your pew pew's.

So for the love of god and my sanity give the guy and the who staff a break for fuck sake!

I'm not 100% sure but I believe a well tuned Snort can take care of most, if not all login server attacks. A specific attack is basically a TCP sequence which mostlikely is the same every time. Meaning it has patterns u can identify and block with an opensource IDS/IPS application like Snort. Snort is widely used by security experts all over the world to identify and block all kind of attacks. I'm pretty sure a game is no different.

Amazing job on keeping us updated. You actually managed to keep probably 1k people on their computers for an hour and a half pressing connect... the least you can do is tell us to come back 2morow if you have no clue what you`re doing... which is what it seems like.
