    For once I agree with Nik (probably the first and last time ). Allthough you think it's a retarded idea parasitic, past servers have proven differently. Theres plenty of reasons, but no point in listing them as there has alreadybeen stated that there will be no wipe.

    For the most part, they don't. A few other server owners have PM'd me saying they're being attacked too, at the same times, so, meh. Someone just doesn't like PSKO.

    Honestly we should see. First thing without a doubt is to make sure the server actually stays up after the fix is implemented of which two talked about. If when everything is good and server is running smoothly, we see that the population is much lower, meaning like 500-600 people during peak time, then I honestly think you need to wipe and restart. I know what you are thinking. Even though 500-600 still seems like an amazing population, for KE server with these EXP rates and anvil rates, it is not. Many reasons why it's not, just think about it.

    But as I said, if it still has a good population once it's back up then there is no need, and if it doesn't then a wipe and restart is must I would say. I'm having my fingers crossed that it won't need a wipe, as I personally don't want one either .

    It's interesting that we were actually just hit 800 when it was hit first thing yesterday (my time) after being down 200-400 (well, it gradually increased) for the most of the day. They definitely pick the best time.

    When it went down last, we hadn't really expected anyone to log in - it'd been down and we'd told everyone there's probably no point waiting around. I don't know how many was on then.

    Yeah. When the server went down that last time (for that same reason), I figured to hell with it, been up all night/day patching exploit after exploit... it's probably time for bed. :P

    Wow, I can see I'm not doing a very good job at letting people know what's going on!!

    The DDoS was never an issue. We've only been hit once, and it was used to simply knock out the game server - not even keep the entire thing down for very long.

    It was a very small botnet used (and recognised), which we've nullrouted (basically.. IP banned).

    All exploits used on us (and all those prior to the launch, I hope, anyway!) thus far have been fixed EXCEPT for one vague issue (causing the game server to stop letting people into the server) plaguing us since launch day. This is the reason we're offline, as we're sick of reopening just to get hit by this same issue.

    Currently we're working on fixing this issue, but if I don't manage to, I've asked the one person I know of who has resolved it in the past (osmanx) about it - and he's going to fix it again (he... doesn't remember exactly which patch it was that he wrote which solved it, he fixed it aaaaages back and has modified his server so much since :P). We were talking earlier about it, but he went AFK a short while so I'll keep at it myself, and wait until he gets back.

    So... even if I don't fix it (I probably won't, running out of theories here! Vague issues like that are obviously not my forte), we will still have the issue fixed within the time I specified (and for those wondering, I meant 48 hours from the time of my post, not from the server's downtime).
