Always respond to every1 making lots of people angry/leaving the server. What you gotto realise that from the 1k people that started the server 80% are retards but they are the life of your server. When there are no updates people will ask for updates even tough they were told to wait. Instead of responding just let them wait or make an official announcement but do not give them the attention they are asking for. And defenitly don't flame them for asking things that are on their minds. Their post are a sign of how they like the server.

Same kinda goes for twostars. He is battleling it out with some kid on this forum while 1000 people are waiting for an update. Also pissing people of more making them try harder to take the server down.

If you look at Professor from oldschoolko or that guy from sexyko they hardly respond to flames etc. and by doing so making less enemies and keep the community out of all the drama.

Sure, I may be blunt with people, but that doesn't cause them to leave, they always say that just to make themselves feel important, and to try to get us to be nicer to them, but they're all still here.

While we're on the topic of updates, there's absolutely no pleasing people today, you give an announcement every 30 minutes, they want one every 10. You give up on that and give one every few hours instead, and they say we're not trying hard enough.

The point of a moderator isn't to be everyone's friend, it's to keep the assholes/idiots/flamers/spammers quiet, so that the drama on the forum and ingame isn't up, and everyone else can be heard fairly when they post.. Now, I've kept the forum spam down, given a fair amount of updates, the irc channel drama down, so what's the problem? Oh right, I'm mean to people.

I think I've done my job well, and if some one like you, or a few other people (or half the community for that matter) thinks I'm handling this the wrong way, or they just plain hate me, so be it, I really don't care.

edit: I find it funny how this wouldn`t be so widely discussed how Parasitic is a bad moderator if he didn`t ban me in the first place. Looks like the ban turned out to be a `winning` situation.

So what! By responding to him you are only validating what he feels. He is entitled to his opinion just as you are yours. You are not going to make him see things your way and same for him. You both agree to disagree and stop making the situation into a flame war that is doing nothing but hurting the reputation of the server you want all of us to play in.

I personally agree with both of you but it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. You as moderator are a spokesperson for KOTastic and as such everything you say or do in these forums will reflect on the leadership of that server and people WILL base their opinions on what they are reading. If they can't trust the leadership to be mature about forums what does that say about the leadership in game?
