Which private project doesnt have this kind of issues on launch though ? I know nothing of coding and shit but if it happens to everyone, if it has happened every single time, its rather naive to think this one time it will be fine. I lived that dream in Legacy, but it turned into a nightmare.

In my humble opinion, its best to say as little as possible, we tried to keep everyone informed as best and often as we could and it eventually ended instigating more flaming and complains. I think its rather smart to withhold updating untill he has good news to share.

My point is that if people signed to play this server, they signed up for the tough launch.

About DDOS claims/accusations that some people like to bring up, remember when YourKo didnt exist ? Remember how shit was the same ? Before server owners could blame DDOS and YourKo, private server launches where allways tough. I could list all launches that I have plaid and not a single one went smooth.

If people want to suck it up and be in front of monitor all day, at least watch a movie or something, dont stress yourself more than you allready are. Take a chill pill, wait it out. Like in all servers, better things are to come.

You can't really compare OSKO ddos attack sizes to any other server.OSKO is a big big target since their player base is 1k+ aswell.
Besides YourKO ofc,but since every turkish server is hosted at pvphosting,no one dares to touch YourKO neither.

Which Yourko ? The last one restarted a fair amount of times and did have issues, nothing like this but it wasnt 100% smooth. No clue about the second one though, but I bet they didnt have as much as people as this launch has had. I know for a fact that YourKo didnt.

Regardless, whats your point ? That smooth launches are a common occurance ?

There are couple of ways to protect you against a DDOS. Increase your bandwidth and add a 3rd gen firewall or a Cisco router with firewall IOS build in. Change host company if they can mitigate the attack.

Oh forgot to mention block your ICMP port if you dont need it to run the PS.

I hate that the server is having problems, but all that shit aside the server is great.

Just threw it out there. Somebody said they haven't seen a server launching without problems. I've seen plenty. I've also been there when PSKO was at it's rock-bottom when most servers weren't even holding up without anybody DDoSing them. There were countless exploits that have been fixed now thank god for that. Also, reign of kronos DDoS was the same thing that took down many other servers, for example HRKO. I don't remember the exact numbers although I gotta admit the attacks OSKO is getting are bigger than the ones reign of kronos had. Why am I pointing out these things on OSKO topic? Simply because I think it's sad how one of the most successful private servers can't fix one issue that has been fixed by other people before. Also because the OSKO administration team keeps lying to their players. Does this actually concern me? No. In the end, I'm just doing this for my own enjoyment. Something to keep me busy right?

C'moon, the pk on last night was pretty epic. Brings back memories all the way from Knight Imperia's legendary events.

After the maintenance everything seems to be running pretty well. ( havent been online today tho ).
