Go to the bottom of the list, and download patches 1385,1386,1387 and export them 1 by 1 in order from lowest to highest into your oldschoolko folder, some players have an issue connecting to the ftp server to get an automatic patch update so if you're one of them please do this and your problem should be solved.

You should be all set then.

As far as security goes I know they got better security this time around, but attacks will always happen, we won't know if they can be stopped completely yet or not until the server goes up.

DDOS can't be never fully prevented and it will eventually crack despite if you got good security or not unfortunately thats the harsh truth.
