Chitin Shield +5 VS. Dread Shield +8

Hey everyone, I am a full support INT priest. I just want to know which shield to get. I play RLB mostly, and a little DCZ. Thanks in advance.

I will have:
-Iron Neck / Iron Belt
-Dual Cleric Earring +3
-ROL +3 / ROM +3
-Priest FP +9 Set
-DD +7 Helmet
-Lycaon Hammer +8

-50 more club defense
-50 more sword defense
-25 more axe defense
-25 more spear defense
-20 more glacier resist

Cons:
-217 less defense
-35 less HP bonus
-15 less dagger defense
-15 less flame resist
-15 less glacier resist

-50 less club defense

With my jewelry and the lycaon +8, I will have 150-190 resists to all with both options, so I don't think the gain/loss of resists is really an issue. Also, I don't think I have to really focus on assassins too much, because of my iron set + dd helmet, but I could be wrong. The main thing that makes this decision so hard is the massive amount of weapon defense on the CS +5 VS. the massive defense bonus that the Dread +8 gives.

If anyone can help me choose a shield, and explanations why, I would appreciate it. Thanks again!

i would defently get the ds. cs may be a good shield but its not necessary for the price ever. you could defiantly sell it and get some good gear improvements

If you choose to remove the cs because of it's price you should notice he said he would already have accessories.

still. he could get some shinies or something either way cs isnt that good lol. also wouldnt surprise me if cs was close to dread 9 price.

Thanks for the post, but price isn't that bad on the CS (I can buy it and it won't affect me one bit), and I couldn't really upgrade my gear too much more. I just want to know which shield is best for RLB and DCZ, price doesn't matter for me. :P

what zone do you play.. im thinking ardream hints the fp9.
i think ds is best for ardream..my opinion is most rogue are at ardream and ds has dd cs does not.
rlb. i wouldnt have a clue. i dnt play rlb. your choice.
and cz. it would be a toss up between ds/cs dread has the advantage for the more ac/dd but then again the cs with 50more club/50more sword/25more axe thats cutting alot of of the winiroms, baals, and ii9's in cz
basically making the warriors look like crap.

but i think if you have the cs keep it for when you run into those warriors in ardream with mirage+9's or avedons/hb's/ii's
sin's shouldnt hurt you much sens you got iron set and dd helm.
but i would rock both and switch between them, depending on what kinda of group i ran into.

How about both shields, I would say a DS +8 barely costs anything compared to what gear u have =) ?

It's a bit of a problem that you play in both zones, coz 1 zone has many sins (Ardream) and the other zone has many warriors (rlb) I never was a big fan of cs but I guess that with your iron set and dd helmet you can get cs

Btw instead of you I'd get DS 7 and Chitins 9

true. id get chitn 9 also. for more ac.
be as much as a tank as you can be.
my dcz priest had chit set8, iron set, dual rom's+2, CE+2's, ds8, holy animor rev1, and dd+8. i think one of the only dd +8 helms at the time.

ds 8 since dcz is mostly rogues and than the lil DD is way more usefull than the big warrior weapon deff bonus

if youre going to play ardream, get the DS for sure...
if rlb, get the CS for sure...

im sure you did the tests, but make sure you test fully debuffed and youll see cs is a better shield for rlb.

i have similiar gear to you but got a ds7 and cs7...ds 7 is cheap and not far off of ds8, so just have both shields...

also for ardy, go paper or silk build...especially with your build...fp9 is best for rlb or chitin 9s, but for dcz, paper with dd15/dd25 / ds8 and (i forgot the name of that sword that gives you 100hp and 15 resists)...
