    Yes
And its the same purpose as Howling sword/hellblade for warrior is spammable too, lol. Cancelling the whole animation of Helis , by doing that you'll score more Helis' in less time than just spamming skill with no r.

It takes time to get the right timing, and when you finally get it right, it'll be easy.
Its somewhat like this : Skill - 1 second window - then 2 R's in a row, then skill again almost instantly after the R's. Then repeat same until your target is dead, or you are

im sure adding 50-100 damage per helis isnt that bad eh? and it doesnt even slow down the speed of which u use helis,,, might even speed it up.

the extra R damage also enables u to cancel other priests' heals and duffs better :P

Ok I tried it on some monsters(troll warrior) and I can cancel my animation, so that's a start for combo but can't seem to do the extra r damage.
this is how I do it on a monster
skill r-r skill r-r.. Do I need to wait longer for I hit my skill?

skill (wait 1 second), then 2 R's, then skill instantly after the R's, then wait 1 second, then 2 R's again, etc.

maybe you arent getting the "R" damage because you are not close enough. You need to be very close to the monster to get the r damage.
