Does mages have a dmg penalty if theyre not using a staff just like priest dont hit hard with spears ?
Exemple : take 2 mages with 255 MP (dont worry about the other stats) wich mage will hit harder between the one with WOE+7 (staff) and the mage whos using Smite Hammer +7 (club) with a shield ? Because the Smite Hammer has more AP and flame dmg than the WOE.
Dont answer : with a club u wont be abble to use the staff attack skill I know that :P

the one with the WOE +7.
unluckly the elemental dmg on weapons that are not staffs does not count for the mage
woe +7 ofc , damage will be much lower with smite
I have tested this with a tank mage. Elemental on a non-staff weapon doesn't contribute to effects or damage.
