This is indeed the way to wipe the nps off the character to prevent it from being used for NP transfer.
But when leaving the clan NO NPS remain in the clan.
The character gets back 30% so you would need to do a couple of times before you have almost 0 np.
Therefore, just find a clan to join, leave and rejoin if you want the np wiped. But the clan has nothing to gain from it.

Can't you resecure the account?
Yeh clan gains nothing when u leave the clan. And u only gain 30% back. So u would have to sell whole char and leave it in clan as np holder char.
