Hmmm, few reasons.

1) Shard +0 costs more to start upgrading.
2) Shard +8/80 fails less than cleaver +9/90 (don't have to believe me, but it's true).
3) Erm, well, shard is sexier.
4) Go back to step 1. :P

i thought that too but with cleaver +9 u miss more then shard+8
i think thats because cleaver is middle class at the begining and shard is high class.
but its true u gotta test it.. so ull believe me xD
