Any way around this? Or do I have to start the game with a nttpoints purchase??

Honestly i quite dont understood why ppl think that if something is labeled "free2play" = every game feature is for free... I played serverals "free2play" games and at some point they always force you to buy something, otherwise it would be nearly impossible to be catch other players or you would not be able to participate in all major events - anyway can`t blame any developer for that, since they have to earn money to be able to host a game lol.
