    Thumbs down

heard about the 7.9 earthquake that hit the coast of Peru. At last count 337 were killed and over 1500 injured.

Please keep them in your thoughts / prayers (or whatever you believe in) As you know we have a number of Peruvians in the community, and on behalf of the ko4life staff, I wanted to say we're thinking of you....

    Hope everybody's ok.

There needs to be a more efficient detection system in place, so civilians can at least be better warned and prepared...

i believe how the system works is that there are "sensors" that measure plate movement all over the world (mainly along the edges of plates) and when it moves, the closest 3 will pick it up and then they can pin point where it originated from and then warn people. But I dont think the system is very good :S.

San Fransico is due for a massive earthquake for over 10 years or so (dont remember the range) and its suppose to be huge.
