Closing the gates is harsh but its the castle owners right... and they will be losing money from it, believe me.

well thing is...it used to be k2's old position that a castle owner is only allowed to close the gates within 24 hours of a csw

although ive never heard different but a lot of gm's have been fired since then and james is apparently gone.......sooooooooooooooooo....no one knows what k2's current rule for it is if any

but in the past if u kept the gates closed theyd take the castle from u
