It seems there may be a DNS error causing this. I have tried several different DNS servers and none are able to resolve:

    ftp.knightonlineworld.com
    www.knightonlineworld.com
    forum.knightonlineworld.com
    knightonlineworld.com

The server status page is probably correct that the servers are up and running. This is probably just another example of K2's ISP giving their host records a ridiculously short TTL and then failing to propogate DNS records in a timely manner.

You're lucky then. Your ISP's DNS servers must have received the updates before this problem began and have not yet purged K2's host records.

If I can find a DNS server that actually still has these records, I'll create a local hosts file that advanced users can use. (If you decide to use a hosts file, remember that you did this in case the IP addresses actually DO change at some point.)

Well, K2's own ISP doesn't seem to have records for any of these hosts. Here are the nslookup results:

    > server ns1.intelenet.net
    Default Server: ns1.intelenet.net
    Address: 209.80.45.2

    Server: ns1.intelenet.net
    Address: 209.80.45.2

    *** ns1.intelenet.net can't find www.knightonlineworld.com: Server failed

    > server ns2.intelenet.net
    Default Server: ns2.intelenet.net
    Address: 207.38.45.140

    Server: ns2.intelenet.net
    Address: 207.38.45.140

    *** ns2.intelenet.net can't find www.knightonlineworld.com: Server failed

    > server ns3.intelenet.net
    Default Server: ns3.intelenet.net
    Address: 216.23.176.113

    Server: ns3.intelenet.net
    Address: 216.23.176.113

    *** ns3.intelenet.net can't find www.knightonlineworld.com: Server failed

This isn't really "easy" English, but K2's ISP's DNS servers are malfunctioning.

If your own ISP's DNS server has cached the records for knightonlineworld.com and they haven't yet expired, you will be able to connect to the game and website. (If you are running Windows XP, your own computer may have also temporarily cached these records.)

If your own ISP's DNS server has NOT cached the records (because of a policy or because they've expired), it will be unable to get those records from K2's ISP and you will NOT be able to connect to the game or the website.
