Turkey bans Knight Online over tax & game addiction issues / K2 Network appeals - Confusion Ensues
Turkey apparently banned Knight Online (operated in Turkey by K2 Networks) from being played in Internet cafes. Knight Online seems to have earned $4 million in 2006, $9 Million in 2007, and apparently $1 Million a month in 2008 in Turkey.
The Turkish government wants a piece of the action (and has some moral / gaming addiction issues):
'There are thousands of people becoming addicted to games and companies are earning profits without being taxed,' Simsek told the Anadolu Ajansi news service.
