don't come back. ko sucks nowadays, wait for new server launch in USKO (don't go steamko).
Olympia ardream is by far the most active but has 0 english population lol.
steamko is so bad?

steamko is the definition of failure, look at hellsgarem; newest server looks like a ghost town. if u want to play ko that desperately you should go to apex knight online, only issue there is the admins have no clue what KO is about so u might see some awkward patches and stuff coming through. after that i'd suggest you playing a new USKO server launch, they are usually insanely active and the hype at the start is also really good imo.
when the new server usko is comeing?
if only i knew lol, would be a lot of fun to play a good new server again. hopefully within a few months.
bad? technically speaking it's similar to USKO's-gameplay wise, some events and PUS items weren't added to Stko due to player's requests (no complaints regarding this so far).
as for activity, depends on the server and your time zone I guess, I know that cypher and pathos have PK most of the day but Hellsgarem, based on what I was told it's not always active (pk wise) for some time zones, statistically speaking it's growing.
castle siege wars are quite packed in all steamko servers too (hellsgarem included).

based on apexko's players statements, the server is currently active but not always that way, it has its up and downs.
can have a few weeks of pk and then when a new stable server comes out it's dead again or at least inactive for most users.

tbh apex was never dead because of any new server, it was dead for some time because of gms failue with some updetes
you can come and check apexko, more english people and also alot pk... so far the best private server.
was dead for quite some time after Cypher launched because literally everyone went there lol
Just few randoms was shout ingame and forum "ohh steam open knight online server" "ohh ahh apex will dead soon come play steamko"
But....
They came back after 1,5month

and Apex died as soon as Cypher launched and only was active again around May-June, I don't know how January -> May is "1.5 month" but oke
