Hes not a hacker,that could be done by a 10 year old noob that opened cmd typed netstat found the port and ip,then sent killer packets. Was easy,but can get you sued.

Whoever thinks this action will change ANYTHING, u are dreaming. Even if this guy shuts down all servers for weeks, K2 will just get a new patch or whatever to stop the attack and things will get back to the way they were before. They dont care about customers, just about their profit.

Eventho there might be good intentions behind all this, it wont make any difference. K2 is a business and this is how they work. They run a shity operation with no real customer support that gives them money. As long as they get their money, why change anything?.

I agree, this man does have good intentions but nothing will be done. I will give him credit for trying a least to try and prove a point. Its K2's own fault for letting someone take adventage of them so bad, if they would have maybe upgraded their security a bit more and actually gave a shit about the costumers maybe this little incident would of never happend?

I didnt hack the database. I found a exploit on the webserver and was able to hack my hacked account back since K2 did nothing about it. They said my PC had a keylogger and was my fault, not theirs. Got my account back and helped many others who were hacked aswell. Weeks after, the new lead GM/Manager called me and I gave him all the info and how to fix the problem.

I helped them with a lot of stuff, game related, not just security. They made me GM like 4 months after that, not "quickly after".

As for this DoS on the servers, prolly a short string on an IPS will fix it instantly. Firewalls wont block this type of attacks. IPS's do. Not sure if K2 even knows what IPS stands for [/b]

A question for you Devile. If you have had recieved gm status for a while, weren't you supposed to show up at office if you logged the game master character, as you aren't allowed to log the game master character outside the office.

I totally agree with this. This TroyanHooper or what ever he's called is just a random Turkish kid who thought he could be cool and famous to pretend he hacked the KO servers, while every little kid that knows how to leech files from hack sites could have done this. It's just retarted how he said he wouldn't do any harm to K2 and wanted to get this fixed as soon as possible. If he would had great advantages like database acces or anything similar he would have abused it 100% sure, and I'm sure almost any other player would do the same if they get the oppurtunity to. Don't try to look like a guardian angel to K2, in the first place everyone wants to be number 1 of their server, and make history inside Knight Online, and most of the times this has to happen through illegal methods.
