Probably to get low class items +8 e.g wood staff +8, maul +8, bow +8.

It's like 20gbs everyday for chinese koxpers.
They sell addicts like you still playing the game gold so you can give them back the gold for +8 items when they upgrade.

Probably a myth that your luck with uppgrade will increase by burning items before your real upgrade.
