im pretty sure that if u have lets say 18gb on you and u merchant a shard +8 for 400m
people cannot buy it from you.at least thats what used to happen back in the day
they can buy the shard and u only get 300m

You asked why people setup merch's when they don't expect to sell all the items, because maybe you overprice the item? You can't tell me everytime you setup merch you sell all the items unless they are really cheap. So you just don't think about it and put more gb then you can hold, with the condition EVERYTHING is sold...do you get it or still no? lol
It may sound odd to you but i (doesnt mean every does too) firstly calculate wht im gonna get then set my merhcnt up. It is because earning gbs aint easy+ tht helps cuz i see sometimes people put 50000000 instead of 5gb *wink wink musht
