Bank wire transfer in the United States charges higher fees than western union (depends on your bank.. some banks do this service for free).. also bank wire transfer is limited from bank to bank.

paypal is a buyers paradise..

western union is a sellers paradise..

You can get scammed either way..

However..

There is a "bypass" assosciated with paypal. Let me explain, Person A sends money to Person B. Person B sends that money to Person C. Person A charges back on Person B.. Person C doesn't lose any money.. Person B has a negative balance.. If lets say, person B closes his bank account before Person A charges back, paypal has to investigate why the money was sent to Person B in the first place.. since they are now directly losing the money out of their pocket. Person A may/may not be compensated.
