i didn't read all of the last 2 pages, but

there is a very simple test to see weather or not you are addicted to something. (can do the same thing with smoking, or drinking alcohol)

If you are used to playing KO every day. Stop playing for a while, and see how long it takes you to start missing it. Think about what aspects u're missing... still don't play... see how long it takes till you really start craving for it.

    I am a ko addict.
    - After 2-3 days, i really wanna logg in and chat with my clannies, i tend to keep eighter fridayevening or saturdayevening (CSW) free for ko, coz i can sleep in the next day and hence stay up late.
    - I tried to quit several times because i felt bad ingame. One night, i couldn't even sleep coz i decided i'd quit.
    - I have lost sleep over this game.

But now, I started to play less, taken up a new hobby (i go skating with a friend, or alone when she's got other stuff, on monday's and wednesdays, somethimes in weekend to) and doing stuff with my husband again (he used to play hardcore ko as well), making a new friend + girls night out every 2 months, and we're very bussy with the house we're gonne build. And i feel so much better, just by playing less and doing other things.

    Ko started as pure fun.
    Then you start meeting people.
You wanna reach certain goals (you want that new skill or item)
You join a clan, get commitments, you wanna reach commen goals,
you build up a reputation ...
And the game will demand more and more time (eg lvl's take longer to gain). These games are build very smart, with the idea to keep you playing for years.
Who here can dissagre with that?

Just keep it under control. Don't push you rl friends back for a game. Play coz u want to, not coz u have to.

    well, that's my 2 cents

I could tell you a sad story about how I lost my wife because I played to much Counter Strike or how I am married to my soul mate because of KO. If you think real friends are different from cyber friends you are fucked up. There is only 2 real differences. Your distance and/or your limited pocket book. The bottom line is.... life is what you make of it. If you really like a cyber life then by all means live it. What the hell makes a good job or a great wife the measure of life. Sports and work can be just as bad as this shit.... how many people have lost there wife or life becuase of there job or because of sports or spending to much time with friends. It all depends on what you want out of life. I don't want a "good job". Good jobs require you to work more hours and spend less time doing the things you want to do. One day instead of watching a basket ball game you will be watching 411 pk on a big ass screen with a bunch of friends. There is already a Cyber Athletes League.

Live life the way you want to live it and do what makes you happy. A cyber life can bring just as much joy and memories as real life.
How much different is it for a CEO to rack up a billion for a company than it is for you to be the richest player in KO. If your life is a cyberlife then you have achieved just as much as the CEO.

Remember the first time you walked outside of Breth and saw someone provoking the whole field of monsters and then AOEing..... Tell me that doesn't invoke memories of good times. Same feelings are there just interacted a different way.
As for this being a bad PVP game.... I have found no other games that have what I like in a game. I play mostly because of my friends and family that play this game and will continue to play until it isn't fun anymore.

The only thing this game is lacking is a decent host.

I always found it odd to have friends and clannies who are married with kids and play games. I think it is because my parents are really not into computers and I cannot imagine doing that stuff with them. And I politically a liberal, I don't believe anyone has any right to tell anyone else what to do. If you want to play games 24/7 then fine. If you want to inject drugs then fine. No one seems to have any self-control anymore, nothing is ever their own fault.

It isn't that games are addictive, its that people with personalities that are vulnerable will just find comfort in anything that lets them forget about other problems. If they didn't game all the time, they would play internet poker, or drink too much beer, or even party too much and lose their money.

i think to soem degree i am addicted, but my parents have grounded me from KO/WoW for weeks at a time and i dont get anythign except mildly annoyed and bored so im not to wrried. +wtf do other 18 year olds do for fun? they get drunk every weekend. i personally think that playign wow is cheaper and less harmful then getting drunk all the time...(not that im saying im against it, but i dotn think its worth the effort when u gotta sneak around ur parents and stuff to do it)

ive been addicted to online games for awhile now unfortunently but my problem is my location.... i live in the middle of the great white north of canada , absoultly nothing to do at all, ive been playing ko to reach my goal of getting the top lvl and quitting the day after and thats what i still plan to do and hopefully by than i will be heading to college and moving somewhere with a coast beside it. honestly i dont see how so many people from california etc can play online games i mean theres so much more to do when comparing it to people that live in small towns isolated from everything else. but w.e 0000 has a point about self control and also i agree with him cause hes my hero for his turk hating  come to uk vent sometime zero i got told u know it

i have actually seen studies that find that online games are beneficial to senior citizens and shut ins . The benefits were two-fold, the first was that the game itself helped the older peoples mind become more nimble and function better and the second was the social networking helped them not to get depressed like many that are in nursinghomes or do not have alot of social contact.

Its just like everything else, moderation is the key.
