anyways, anyone trustable or not would keep the item if they knew there was no chance of them getting labelled a scammer.
this is why people find it amazing that this guy gave it back haha

I would have waited for his response after holding the chitin+9. If it was negative, I would have kept it.

Unless it was pre-arranged, there would be no reason for you to give it back.
