kodb site is good for just to see how long the servers have been up for.

I love the King of Knight site, but for server status, I like KODB better. Cleaner looking, gives more info, and best of all, it says in its tab or if its the active tab, on the startbar (so when you have your browser minimized) if the servers are up.

I beg to differ, ours works just fine as well.

The reason why most server status pages stopped working:

Now during maintenance servers will not appear to be offline..instead they accept connections and just never reply. This threw most of the pages out of business. The correct way to find if a server is now up or down is to build a connection and try to read from it -- if you get a read error servers are down, else servers are up. Don't worry if you don't understand what I mean ^^

I do not believe in proprietary and secret information, that is the exact reason we started the site, to share as much knowledge as possible. Thanks for all the positive comments and be assured we'll keep working on it.

Yep, that's exactly what happens. The initial connection is accepted, then nothing. Sounds like your's works. I just hadn't seen any other ones that weren't just port scanners.

Quick to judge I guess Hypnos, if I were u, I'd make some quick changes Magi suggested, cuz ur site still says its up when servers are really down:
