either he bought it of a duper and sold me (saying he got it from tk which is pretty much scamming)

or he duped it him self and sold me (which is duping)

selling duped item doesn't make you look like duper , but saying it's 100 % legit TK drop you seen with own eyes , and then watching it get wiped makes you look like a piece of shit or scammer.

I don't know if the item was duped or Codex got simply K2'ed.
