You are definitely right on the information sharing on web.
However it fucking pisses me right off that they hunt gb-sellers here than hunt the freaking koxpmages that have been running since day 1.

That IS your ID, because you are blocked, you may see it. Don't forget that KO was integrated with steam, and steam has to somehow recognise who is who.

Back when I was active on here as staff and helping out with the Diez GM, I would get into trouble when I asked for help with my account. Most of the staff that set this forum up and ran it for years have some connection back to working as or with GM's in USKO. It's the reason why most of them/us put so much effort into this forum because we were so pissed off with how the game was being handled.

Fast forward to 2009 and that wasn't the case.

GM's have always been aware of this site, and the only known collaboration between GM's and people from here was when the god hack came out.

GM involvement has always been minimal, even when you have direct contact with them.

Some users were always 'unbannable'

I caught hell from athenrye and was almost removed as a sheriff because i jailed over 5k people that were mine-hacking, then i provided him the video evidence and had contact with calimaestro during the episode. Needless to say Athenrye never gave me a hard time ever again.

Corruption was overlooked on a case by case basis, basically depending on how much they spent. I was privy to the forums that others weren't, and witnessed it.

Anyone in a top clan could also get a GM's ear when needed (talking about top 5 clans in this case0.

Devilee got fucked over big time while he was a GM, because he wasn't corruptible even though he had the top clan on our server, he played by the rules and K2 fucked him over.

I never had any GM role like the others, but it was a thankless task for Festo and Morax. K2 really were the scumbags of all time when it came to how they mismanaged the game and treated people. You would get a really awesome GM now and again, and they would just get treated like shite by the admin staff time and time again. Naomi aka Jessica Wabbit was trying really hard to help people and make the game fun for the people on our server and she never got any support or thanks for all the time and effort she put in. She was a totally awesome GM and it was stupid how K2 just kept doing the same shit to all the honest GM's.
