How do you use Cypher Rings (What info do you need)

I'm confused on what you have to have to be able to use the cypher rings

(I understand you can only take 1 item over with you, and you have to be on one of the other two chars you aren't logged on to.)

Some people say "you have to have secret quest / email / seal code"
Others say "you have to have 3 ESN codes used on the account"
Others say "you have to have 3 ESN codes that have been used within the last three months"
Others say "you have to have 3 ESN codes that have been used LONGER than three months ago.

Can anyone please clear this up for me??

It will just ask you for 3 random KESN codes no matter how old they are.

yeah. When buying a char that had clickandbuy transactions its important to know that clickandbuy does only keep/display this data for 12 months. Took me like one month of trying to finally get him to ask for two ESN-codes in a row of old clickandbuy-transactions.

If you actively answer wrong three times you have to wait for 24 hours and then get a shot on two other codes which both have to be right. Those codes were within one month.

The only limitation is the history your vendor keeps unless you have the old esn-codes in confirmation mails or something.
