I just installed win8 on my pc now as soon as i start playing ko i get a disconnect with an error which says "Failed to load Knight Online, please try again. "

I assume there is compatibility mode on win8, try that.
try to run it as admin and in all compatibility modes^^ with and without antivir
this happens to me too, make sure under properties and compability it is set to work on windows 8 and not like windows xp or something, that fixed it for me
thats what you get for betraying win7
lots of other software are yet not compatible with Win 8, could stick to Win 7 until maximum of the software and things fix their compatibility issues with win 8
