I voted for choice 2, but your not giving enough info. But im not entrily sure.
What are you doign raising FSB on the whole system?
or just buying OC'ed RAM?
If you own the RAM alrady why dont you download PCmark04 or 05. Run the RAM test, see which one gives you a higher score. That will be your answer.
Dipends on what cpu you have, runs the cpu in 100, 133MHz then DDR266 (PC2100), if the cpu runs in 166 or 200MHz then DDR400 (PC3200).
AMD calls 100=200, 133=266, 166=333, 200=400
Intel calls 100=400, 133=533, 166=667, 200=800
i found overclockin ram doesnt do much unless you even the overclock with your processors speed so there inline together if thats what your tryin too do id go the DDR 400
Question is why did you even bring all that up? lolDipends on what cpu you have, runs the cpu in 100, 133MHz then DDR266 (PC2100), if the cpu runs in 166 or 200MHz then DDR400 (PC3200).
^^ Makes Sense
AMD calls 100=200, 133=266, 166=333, 200=400
Intel calls 100=400, 133=533, 166=667, 200=800
What you talking about here? its totally off. I know for sure the Intel is like this :AMD calls 100=200, 133=266, 166=333, 200=400. They call it that because its the SRAM data numbers. wont go into much details.
Since its DDR its always HALF. Why is your INTEL and AMD thing diff..[/b]
Its cpu, AMD x2 Intel x4, so if you have a intel cpu that is 533 that mean that the buss is 133 = 266MHz memory.
right i see what you meantIts cpu, AMD x2 Intel x4, so if you have a intel cpu that is 533 that mean that the buss is 133 = 266MHz memory.[/b]
Yes, I am changing the fsb and No I am not buying OC'ed RAM.I voted for choice 2, but your not giving enough info. But im not entrily sure.

However I'm intending on OC'ing the ram past the fsb speed.
My CPU is a athlon xp 2600 oc'ed @ 2.28 gHz (12.5x182)
So as of right now the ddr400 ram is along with the cpu with a 1:1 multiplier underclocked@ ddr364(2x fsb of 182)
But I can change the fsb/mem core speed multiplier to push the ram further only because I think my mobo wont support a faster fsb.
I'll just do some 3DMark tests since i have the ram but I think the fast ram will give me better performance.
I will post scores after I do it.
U can OC your athlon much much more
Like you said your RAM is underclocked right now.
try to take FSB to 225 with 1:1 Multiplier
Hope your CPU doesnt get too hot.
