I wouldn't use an online bandwidth meter coz they're not so reliable.

If you wanna see your download speed just go to www.download.com and download a big file, you'll see your average speed there. If you have 512kbps you should download with 50-58kb/sec.

If you wanna see your upload speed just find an ftp server and upload a big file there, again, you'll see your average upload speed there. 512's usually have 256kbps upload speed so you'll propably upload with 24-32kb/sec .

If all this is too much trouble just log in on your ADSL router and check the speed there.
