cant dl patches through client and ftp is slow as hell !

Is this all the time or just when new patches are released ?

If it's all the time try clearing your internet cache (and checking your speed)

if it's just with new patchs it's mst likely server is busy

If you get a "error connecting to server" message from the client it means the FTP is busy as hell.

Some people have them stored in their filefront and can download them manually for you

2 things

1 - Have you checked with your ISP, OR compared it to another FTP site. Your ISP may be capping bandwidth speeds on FTP's

2 - Providing one is fine, I'll check. Some FTP programs needs PASV as the transfer mode and some need another. I think there is a registry entry to play about IE settings

3 - Have you tried doing it with firefox manually ?
