Yeah man, my box is awful and it runs KO... It's my main PC until I get my new set up... i have on board graphics and everything...

    Another question:

I hear having a PC on Windows XP and a PC on Windows 2000 networked causes issue (not just for KO) is this true?

I dont wanna pay like $85 to upgrade to XP...

Windows 2000 should for the most part network just fine with xp as long as the xp your running is pro and setup for NTFS.

I tried on a 250Mhz P2 system once. crashed every time it attempted to laod KO. didn't have direct 3d support. Tough tryin to find a computer that old with direct 3d graphics.

if you don't have xp pro then you wont have the programs needed to network xp at all. your going to have to have a linux box setup as a network up before you can chain everything into one.

Unless my limited smarts is lacking something...

Biggest difference in FPS on low spec machines is on the graphics card.

I cut everything to minimum on an old T22 laptop (733Mhz / 256Mb RAM / 32Mb graphics / Win2K) and I get around 2-3fps... perfectly adequate for merching as long as you are just sat there... it's gonna be laggy when you walk to / from the inn though.

Compare to my old desktop (800Mhz / 512Mb RAM / 128Mb graphics / Win2K) getting around 20 fps - still too laggy to take to war though
