I am wondering about the tech level of this forum, So I will preform a small test as I'm looking to build a new computer.

Build me a computer, The best of the best - No limit to $ or anything, I'm looking for Nvidia Video card and Intel processor, besides that - No limit at all. I want the best, Not mid range anything :P.

I want what you think would be the best computer.

Configuration :

that's some serious power you get. up to 4 Teraflops of computing power. Quite expensive tho =/ $18.000

never said it was supposed to be a gaming computer

although i'm pretty sure it would do fine XD .it does fit inside a normal high tower and it runs on air cooling. so no hassle with water tubes or L2N shit.

Ahh so you're buying the computer and not just testing us, do you wan't a rig that can blow away any game at maximum settings for the next few years at a far lower price? Check out my new Pinned topic at the High Performance list and use an i7 920 with the EVGA x58 and one GTX295, the GTX295 will kill anything on the market with ease right now.

9k? Well.. I'd still go with my above build tbh :P

Just take out the
PCX Video 4GB PNY NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800
Tesla 2x NVIDIA Tesla C1060 Computing Processor - 4GB GDDR3 RAM
CPU Overclocked Intel® Core™ i7-975 Extreme 4.86 GHz 8MB Cache

And replace those with the:

Dual GTX295 in SLI
i7 965 Extreme OC

Well, maybe even reduce those RAMs a little, 24gb is just overkill

Let's make that 12..

The build now should be around 7-9k and pretty much, correct me if im wrong, the best you can get for that prize

get a normal priced computer and a car if you got 9K to spend XD

9K is to much for a pc, because the only advantage you'll have to a "normal" computer (around 1.5K) is the fact you can brag about having the best parts. but that will last for 5 months max.

i've seen some nice BMWs for 8K :P

i'm using a speedlink medusa, a true 5.1 surround headset with built-in sub for some real bass and not bass-like sounds coming from a speaker.

i had a steelseries 4H before, which performed quite good for a normal headset. the mic that slides into the cup was a nice feature to. but one speaker stopped playing and i had to send it to sweden or finland (forgot) to see if it would fall under their warranty and if they would repair it.

I have to agree, the Medusa is awesome. I'm using it myself, love it. You barely even notice it on your head, even tho it wheights a ton and is huge as fuck, it's sooooooo soft and everything. The sound is simply amazing.

don't forget that this headset finally has a subwoofer ! pick a good song and it vibrates on your head XD

it does take a lot of tweaking and working out all the volumes, since you can individually select each volume for front, rear, center and subwoofer. so when playing an fps it can be confusing when those aren't configured as they should. but it's like beeing god when you set them right. i hear everything on most css maps :lol:
