I need to completely wipe my hard drive so I can start fresh.

I tried using http://www.dban.org but I had some problems and there's no support to be found from the devs.

Advice?

...Aren't you just talking about a simple format? Wipe the entire HDD and then just reinstall everything, should be a few billion topics about it on google.
