    Could be a number of things? The actual website often tends to have really bad spots where its laggy as hell.

    Also To Remember, depending on how old the account is,
    Try to remember if you had your password in both upper and lower case.

    Eg

    PaSsWorD

    Old Trick, that used to work on older accounts was,

    ID <- CAPITALS
    PW <- As you normally would write it

    Other things to remember, If your using IE7, i would recommend trying to login to the website using Firefox
    which can be downloaded from here.
