was just 1 long beep and that was it, some sites said it meant a video problem but my computer didnt make the normal "sounds" during it's boot that it usually did. and now there is no beep XD

Hmm, no beep means either motherboard or CPU failure, maybe u damaged some part of ur motherboard while u trying to "fix" it
maybe... hopefully I can ditch the 3000+ and get somthing better now
what gfx card u have? what PSU do u have? What DVI connecter did u have? DVI-D,DVI-A or DVI-I
Geforce 6200 OC vid card, PSU was 600wat, and I believe DVI-I
no beep = computer too fucked to make a sound of a beep
uhm, if u drop blood from your wrists into the cpu its noo good
no beep = fukked motherboard, and MAYBE RAM,CPU, HDD, whatever u can imagine.
Beeps are generated by motherboard and CPU, a RAM failure would had gives 2 short beeps, no HDD will just not let u boot ur OS. Beeps are the very first step of computer starting and system checks. If there is ANY beep, then ur CPU should be alive.Originally posted by sexa

sound generator is a part of mainboard and it generates at least normal beep in the system start. but if its not doing that then mainboard is gone. i said other hardwares might be gone cuz if mainboard gone cuz of a power failure it can affect CPU,RAM, HDD since their power is coming through mainboard.Originally posted by C4pt4iN+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(C4pt4iN)</div><!--QuoteBegin-sexaBeeps are generated by motherboard and CPU, a RAM failure would had gives 2 short beeps, no HDD will just not let u boot ur OS. They just called, i'll be back on KO in like an hour
Motherboard was toast B)
Next time, dont open ur computer and try to "fix" it urself unless u have an anti static electricity armband on u B)
hey... I didn't get a shock....
Its not always u can see or feel it, u can make plenty of invisible electric shock into ur components, even sometimes u dont kill it right away, it might gives errors after a few years. B)
oh well... back on my baby
