I just completed compiling all the footage and edited the shit in Sony Vegas 8.0 pro. I rendered it with default settings and the file ended up being 1.6 gigs. Obviously i needed to compress it, and the only program i know is VirtualDub, and used DivX Codecs. Size is now 230mb and when i watch the compressed movie, the quality is great (with slight horizontal sync issue). (Tried compressing with Windows Movie Maker, and the quality was decent, but the sound quality went to shit)

I uploaded to FileFront and it looks almost like the movie has seriously horizontal sync issues now. Like horizontal lines on any movement and the quality looks like a used piece of toilet paper.

Anyways, I've see some GG quality movies, and since i worked so hard on the editing, i'd hate to waste it with crappy quality. Any advice in rendering tools, specs?

    Current settings:

    NTSC DV
    Uncompressed.
Video: 29.97 fps, 720x480, Lower field first.

Is there another setting I should try to render it as on vegas? Maybe cutting out having to use second Compressor?

sanc, try using a divx codec when rendering it in sony vegas, instead of rendering then compressing
