1200$ won't get you a very good PC, did you want it to be able to play any game coming out at high resolution with all the eye candy on?

Or just something to play ko at 100fps?
    just for cpu, ram etc..

I doubt that. My system is pretty decked out, and so are my co workers and max we get is 160fps, and thats d3 eslant if we are lucky. In cz normally 70-100fps average, and at war gate 8-20.

As for hard disk SATA II are a litle slow comparing to the "old" Sata. Its about 2-3.NS comparing Sata to Sata II, so dont buy Sata 2 before checking the NS.

For Monitors, if u wanna play "games" for real like CS, dont buy a TFT cuz they suck to play, it has like a delay like on portable computers, playing a film, 20min later, sound isnt right with the picture ur seeing(delay, normal is like 10ms), or playing a game like CS, u cant spray or aim to the correct point, cuz when u aim to something in movement, it´s not there anymore, and that´s why people says on that monitors bullets doesnt register, can be the server that doesnt register too, but usualy the problem is the monitor and the hertz.
CRT with 85hz+(on the resolution u choose to play, normaly a 17" monitor suports 100hz @ 800x600) its the best thing u can buy, and its cheaper. There is a bug on WINXP that even if u put 85HZ @ 1024 on ur desktop and play a game at 1024, your game will be set to 60HZ as example. To fix this bug download "Reforce Lock" or "Refreshlock". Reforce is simple and fixe´s it quick without having to carefully choose hz.

For graphic card u dont really need a 7800 GTX of course, a 7600GT(200€) does a really good job too.
And btw, MSI Motherboards gives alot of problems after wearing them for like 4-5 mouths.
    ASUS FTW!.

Ahh..dont forget to turn off the dual core playing some games or it will blow haha.

I hope i helped & made my ideas explained, GL.
