You probably DL from crappy trackers or seeders with slow upload speeds (or however BT is working).
I'm dl'ing always at max from ST, though I don't think you will find any cartoons there :|
    ST? What's that?[/b]
    http://supertorrents.org/browse.php

Of course there are loads of such sites, all of them probably work the same (you can only register with an invite).

If you got a good fast ISP = DC++
    If not = Torrent

My download speed on DC++ hubs is 1,2MB/s - 6MB/s
The fastest I've ever downloaded something with Bitcomet is 650kb/s

might be, but if you got a fast connection DC++ is the way to go.

It only search on the hubs you're connected to. If you're using a Router, Zone Alarm or Kerio you'll have to change some settings or you won't get any search results, you could use passive mode but that sucks.

Depends how much you're sharing. here's some hublists http://www.dslreports.com/faq/8189
To get in to a descent hub you probably have to share +20GB at least
