PCI-E Slots

I have a motherboard with a PCI-E x1 slot, PCI-E x16 slot and 3 PCI-E slots. I want to get Radeon HD 4670 IceQ Turbo 512MB, which requires a PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot. I read somewhere that ATi 2.0 cards work fine on PCI-E 1.0 mobo's? is 1.0 the same as PCI-E x1 or x16? i want to know if this card will work on my motherboard.

it is true that you will be able to put a 2.0 device in the 1.0 slot. just keep in mind that this will make your card run at 1.0 speeds (which is twice as slow as 2.0).
