HI. If anyone could help me please, I have a nvidia8500gt video card, and starting last night after 10 minutes of play I get this unplayable framerate drop, as if my computer if very busy doing something. It weird and seems consistent that it only starts happening after 10 minutes. Ive been playing just fine on this computer for about 5 months (its pretty new). THe only coincidence that has happened is vista did an auto update and tried to download service pack 1 whil i played last night. I assumed that was the problem so i went ahead and let the 1 hour download process happen. Now it still does the same stupid problem. I did a full system anti virus check, (plus I usually use my laptop for pornography, and what have you) I even uninstalled the service pack to see if that would help and still the exact 10 minutes of perfect play the random shit lag. If anyone could please help with ideas it would be very much appreciated. Thanks

So it only happened when you started to download SP1? Try doing a system restore to before you did that.

Are you playing on a laptop or a desktop comp? If its a laptop, it might be your battery. I play on a Dell latitude 630 laptop and began to experiencing huge lag spikes while playing every 10-20 min or so. Diagnostic and virus checks on my comp always came up empty so I figured it was just my service provider. After about 2 months of this, eventually my laptop's battery light started doing a flash code that indicated there was a problem with the battery even though the battery still would hold a charge. While I waited for a new battery I began playing KO again without a battery in my laptop and noticed that the lag issues went away. Since replacing the battery with a new one my lag issues havent returned.

Try a different game and see if you get the same problem.

It could be due to your graphics card overheating.

Yep your exactly right, I figured it out last night, and I got a new one coming this afternoon. I let it get to dusty and it blew out the fan. So the game played fine until a few minute when the card overheated. But thanks for the help man, and I guess it sucks , but at least I'm getting a faster one out of it
